Arts, Briefly: Reruns vs. Reality
02 Jul 2008 04:56:08With reruns on CBS and Fox leading the ratings on Monday, ABC’s reality dating series “The Bachelorette” kept that network in close contention. According to Nielsen’s estimates, 7.3 million viewers tuned in to “The Bachelorette,” putting ABC in the lead at 8 p.m. ahead of Fox’s “Bones” (6.7 million). At 9 p.m., a special “Men Tell All” episode of the dating show also fared well, winning its time slot among adults 18 to 49 despite trailing in total viewers (7.5 million) behind Fox’s “House” (8.1 million) and CBS’s sitcom reruns, including “Two and a Half Men” from 9 to 9:30 (8.4 million). Fox won the night in total viewers, and ABC and CBS tied for the lead among the 18-to-49 set. ABC might have won the night outright had it not lagged far behind with “The Mole” (3.9 million) at 10 p.m., a time slot CBS dominated with a repeat of “CSI: Miami” (8.1 million).
