Arts, Briefly: Pavarotti’s Daughters and Widow Reach

Luciano Pavarotti’s estate has been settled “fairly,” a lawyer for Pavarotti’s second wife, Nicoletta Mantovani (above, with Pavarotti), said in statements published on Monday after reports of a dispute between Ms. Mantovani and three of his daughters from his first marriage. In a report from Agence France-Presse, Ms. Mantovani’s lawyer, Anna Maria Bernini, told the daily newspaper Il Resto Del Carlino: “Nicoletta and the three daughters are friends. It was this affection that made it possible to reach the best conclusion to the negotiations on the estate.” The Italian news media have published a number of reports that the last will of Pavarotti excluded his daughters from a trust fund worth more than $15 million. Pavarotti died of pancreatic cancer in September.
