Arts, Briefly: 60 Minutes Lifts CBS

Survivors of the “10 Scariest Escapes From Death” lifted NBC’s “Dateline” to No. 1 in the ratings on Sunday among adults 18 to 49, as the network led the night in that demographic but finished second in total viewers. According to Nielsen’s estimates, 7.5 million viewers tuned in to ‘Dateline’ from 9 to 1, building on the 5.5 million who watched the Olympic Trials on NBC from 7 to 9. But CBS edged past NBC in total viewers, thanks to the strength of “60 Minutes” at 7 (9.3 million) and “Million Dollar Password” at 8 (8.5 million). Two reruns of CBS’s “Cold Case” garnered 6.7 million viewers, at 9, and 6.4 million, at 10. ABC finished third with a lineup of all repeats, while Fox was fourth, averaging 4.2 million viewers for its broadcast of the 1997 movie “The Lost World: Jurassic Park.”.
